Types of Schools

Home Schooling Homeschooling (also called home education) is the education of children at home and in the community, in contrast to education in an institution such as a public or parochial school.
Alternative School In education, the phrase alternative school usually refers to a school based on a non-traditional, new, or non-standard educational philosophy.
Waldorf School Waldorf Schools were developed for Emit Molt of the Waldorf Astoria Tobacco Company in 1919 by Rudolf Steiner. They employ a curriculum that addresses subjects on three levels: the intellect (as in lectures), the heart (as in the artistic and feeling aspects of the subject), and the hands (the practical application). The attempt is made to integrate art into all aspects of the curriculum, including the teaching of science. Waldorf schools' pedagogy and practice have often been widely hailed for their creativity and intelligent design, not only by satisfied parents, but by independent educational experts. They have also been criticized for their religious nature, and the Anthroposophy behind it.
Online Education There are many terms for online education. Some of them are virtual education, Internet-based education, Web-based education, E-learning and education via computer-mediated communication (CMC).
Distance Education Distance education is a method of teaching in which the students are not required to be physically present at a specific location during the term. Most often, regular mail is used to send written material, videos, audiotapes, and CD-ROMs to the student and to turn in the exercises; nowadays e-mail and the Web are used as well.
Montessori Method The Montessori method is a methodology for nursery and elementary school education, first developed by Dr. Maria Montessori.
